چکیده

ABSTRACT The dynamical excitation of asteroids due to mean motion resonant interactions with planets is enhanced when their parent star leaves the main sequence. However, numerical investigation outcomes within post-main-sequence simulations computationally expensive, limiting extent which detailed analyses have been performed. Here, we combine use a high-performance computer cluster and general semi-analytical libration width formulation Gallardo, Beaugé & Giuppone in order quantify stability, strength, variation instigated by stellar evolution for single-planet system containing on both crossing non-crossing orbits. We find that instability can be accurately bound only main-sequence values computing maximum as function asteroid longitude pericentre. also relative efficiency resonances different orders stabilize versus destabilize orbits during giant branch white dwarf phases. 4:1, 3:1, 2:1 represent efficient polluters dwarfs, even orbit-crossing regime, 4:3 3:2 retain small reservoirs stable throughout evolution. This represents preliminary step characterizing how simplified extrasolar Kirkwood gap structures evolve beyond

Planet Limits around the Pulsating White Dwarf GD 66

We present infrared observations in search of a planet around the white dwarf, GD66. Timeseries photometry of GD66 shows a variation in the arrival time of stellar pulsations consistent with the presence of a planet with mass ≥2.4MJ. Any such planet is too close to the star to be resolved, but the planet’s light can be directly detected as an excess flux at 4.5μm. We observed GD66 with the two ...

The Pulsar-white Dwarf-planet System in Messier 4: Improved Astrometry

A young and undermassive white dwarf has been identified as the possible companion to the millisecond pulsar PSR B1620-26 in Messier 4. This association is important as it then helps constrain the mass of the third body in the system to be of order a few times that of Jupiter. The presence of this planet in M4 has critical implications for planetary formation mechanisms in metal-poor environmen...

A high - resolution radio continuum study of the dwarf irregular

We present high-resolution e-Multi-Element Radio Linked Interferometer Network radio continuum maps of the dwarf irregular galaxy IC 10 at 1.5 and 5 GHz. We detect 11 compact sources at 1.5 GHz, five of which have complementary detections at 5 GHz. We classify three extended sources as compact H II regions within IC 10, five sources as contaminating background galaxies and identify three source...

The mass of dwarf planet Eris.

The discovery of dwarf planet Eris was followed shortly by the discovery of its satellite, Dysnomia, but the satellite orbit, and thus the system mass, was not known. New observations with the Keck Observatory and the Hubble Space Telescopes show that Dysnomia has a circular orbit with a radius of 37,350 +/- 140 (1-sigma) kilometers and a 15.774 +/- 0.002 day orbital period around Eris. These o...

Irradiation Products on Dwarf Planet Makemake

The dark, reddish tinged surfaces of icy bodies in the outer solar system are usually attributed to the long term irradiation of simple hydrocarbons leading to the breaking of C–H bonds, loss of hydrogen, and the production of long carbon chains. While the simple hydrocarbon methane is stable and detected on the most massive bodies in the Kuiper Belt, evidence of active irradiation chemistry is...
